Top 5 Reasons Why You Don’t Have To Advertise

Are you on the list of businesses who do not have to advertise in 2021?

How in the world could a marketing guy ever say that you don’t have to advertise your business? Well, if you’re on this list of businesses, then you’re pretty special.

Top 5 reasons why you do not need to advertise your business this year.

Number 1 – You have met all of your revenue goals for your business.

If you actually are sitting back and saying, “You know what? Our revenue goals are just fine. I don’t really need to add more revenue to my business.” You are probably not going to enjoy the rest of this blog because nobody has ever gotten to that point.

If you have revenue goals in front of you for 2021 that you want to meet or exceed, or maybe your revenue goals are even three or four years out there, you need to commit to a marketing budget now. Your advertising budget doesn’t need to be a million dollars a month, but it should be enough that you can know that you’re getting impressions and eyeballs and attention on your company so your target audience is aware that you exist.

So, congratulations to the one business in the world that actually has met all of its revenue goals, and doesn’t need to exceed any more revenue, because you are very special. For the rest of you, get to advertising!

Number 2 – You don’t have any competition.

Congratulations if you don’t have any competition! You 1) have a monopoly on everything you do, 2) your business is perfectly established and 3) nobody ever tries to undermine the empire that you’ve built?

Clearly, that is not the case for most every business, probably every business on the planet. Because even if you think that your service is provided locally and nobody else could ever chip in on that, every single business out there and every service has a competitor online, even big ticket items like houses and cars and mattresses. You can order all that stuff online now. So, you do have competition. You may try to talk yourself into the fact that you pretty much own your market and you don’t have anybody competing against you, but that’s probably not the case. And today could be the day that somebody out there launched some competition against your company online and you may not even know about it.

So, because you always have competition, you must stay in front of your audience with marketing and that’s why you should be advertising in 2021, unless you’re the one company out there that has no competition.

Number 3 – Your audience never changes.

NEWS FLASH! Your audience is always changing. No matter how big or small your town is, there are always people leaving and coming in. There are new people finding out about your business. There are people that didn’t even know they needed your services until yesterday and now they’re looking into this for the very first time. So, staying out there so that you are able to be found when people are searching is very, very important.

That’s why you need to 1) have a strong SEO on your website 2) your online presence needs to be dialed, and 3) you need to be pushing out those messages into that new audience that’s trying to find you today, who didn’t even know you existed yesterday.

Number 4 – Your products never change.

You are selling the same thing that you’ve been selling since 1987, and you’ve never changed anything on your shelf. Well, of course, that is probably not true. Every business needs to evolve. The products you’re selling today are different than what you sold yesterday, and they should continue to change going forward.

So, when you have a new product or service, that’s another reason why you should be advertising. So, if your products never change, you’re right, you don’t need to advertise in 2021, but for the rest of us out there, we definitely do.

Number 5 – You never offer a sale, a deal, a discount, a package, any kind of way to save money.

It’s rack rate or nothing. That price on the shelf is the only price we ever charge. Clearly that is not the case. Much business is done with a little bit of a discount, as you obviously know. If you’ve already gotten channels set up for advertising, and then you offer a sale or a deal, it’s very easy to just change the messaging inside the already established ways to communicate to your audience.

So, the next time you have a sale or an offer or a deal, and you got to have your information out there so that your audience is aware, that’s where advertising comes in. If you never offer a sale, you don’t have to advertise. Congratulations.

So, clearly, in 2021, you need to advertise your business because every business has revenue goals. Every business is constantly under attack from new competition. Your audience is constantly changing. You should be offering new products and you should have sales and offers and deals that’ll attract eyeballs. You need to get on the marketing train and BP Media Solutions is definitely the place to go to find out how to do that.

From a digital standpoint, Google AdWords, Google My Business, reviews and reputation management, digital targeted advertising, over the top television and streaming, traditional advertising, radio, TV, newspaper, billboards, print, all those ways that we know that people get information, we can put your name on it.
